Digby TRASHS Tweety Matthews in "Waiting for Big Foot!" Unbelievable!
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 02:25 PM by KoKo01
(Digby gives a whole week of snips of transcripts from Matthews waiting for the "Big Man" to take charge! Matthews screams every day asking about why Guliani or Powell isn't in charge. Digby follows the transcripts with his own observations. It's a HILARIOUS read for Tweety bashers who remember his talking about Bush's "Masterful look in his tight jeans." The snips I could post don't do it justice..try to read the whole thing from the site.

Waiting For Bigfoot

Digby's Comment: Chris Matthews is having an orgasm on national television. For days he has spoken of almost nothing but the necessity of Bush sending in a "big foot" like Powell or Giuliani to take charge of the situation. He has pounded on this issue over and over again.

-SNIP-

MATTHEWS: I want to ask you when we come back whether the president doesn‘t have to do something like that now and pick somebody big to go in there, whether it‘s the vice president, to go down there and move down in New Orleans for six months, or put in Rudy Giuliani or Colin Powell in there, somebody who is a power figure that will take—who will give orders and put everything together and do something like you folks did up in New York during 9/11.

MATTHEWS: OK. One last time with David Gregory. Will the president let Dick Cheney be his big foot down there this week, and that‘s enough, or does he still feel the need to put a Giuliani in there or a Colin Powell in there as his viceroy in that part of the country?

DIGBY COMMENTS: Today, he found sweet relief for his hard-on. Big Daddy Cheney has arrived:

MATTHEWS:
"a tough guy...smart politician.. trying to figure out how to get his president out of a jam... smart guy, tough warrior..aware that now that he's put his boots on the ground he has a stake in this. How big a foot is he going to land on this issue."

Digby's Comment: I get the sense that he's suffering from a bad case of post coital melancholy, though. He just isn't satisfied. He wanted Rudy so badly he could taste it. And all he got was Dick.

1. Tweety has been pathetically lame during this disaster. He seems
oblivious to the human catastrophe. He has been in some bizarre bubble this entire time.

2. What Digby points out so well is that Tweety has always been

looking for a "BIG FOOT." He likes "manly men." I remember back when DU'ers used to watch his show and post about it until some of us decided we couldn't handle the Bush comments. He compared him to Churchill, Roosevelt, Generals in WWII ...and always talked about Bush's clothes.

Some of us thought he has issues with his sexuality. Digby's weeks worth of quotes from Tweety's show seem to show maybe some of us were correct. Power and Sexual issues. ...sheesh. Or, it could be guilt that he's sold out to Bushies and no one wants to here his "Tip O'Neill" stories anymore... He's becoming a basket case.

7. I remember when I used to like Geraldo. Back during the Monica thing
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 02:21 PM by KoKo01
he was the ONLY ONE who stood up for Clinton on his show. Used to have great people on defending Clinton. Now that I look back on those days though I realize he also introduced us to the "bad" cast of characters that dominate Bush World, now. Folks like Victoria Toensing and Joe DiGenova...the lawyers who went to FLA and helped stop Fla Recount. At that time I was innocent and didn't see what must have been going on.

Now, I wonder why he was out there defending Clinton and why he later seemed to turn to scum and ended up on Fox. He was pals with Roger Ailes when Ailes ran MSNBC and when Ailes moved he then brought Geraldo over.

Sad...to be a paid hack like that, always looking for publicity and hanging out with thugs to get it.

12. yes...before they got their big "Break."
Thanks...I didn't remember when I posted, but your reminder is good. Barbara Olsen...wife to Ted Olsen, Bush's first Solicitor General. Barbara who died in the "Pentagon Plane" on 9/11...

Lot's of famous folks on Geraldo.. Makes you wonder what his show was all about, doesn't it...

6. Tweety is cheerleading for someone "manly" to rescue the
damsel in distress, pResident Bush. Tweety makes bush look weaker with this kind of juvenile stuff. Tweety is tacitly admitting that nobody in the administration is capable, find me a pinup poster I can "hero" worship to save my most fave wimpy presnit ever...

Go Digby!

8. What I like about Tweety is
how stupid he can be. Back just before Katrina hit he was interviewing Max Mayfield of the HUrricane Center in Miami. Dr Max told him about the "right quadrant" of the storm (highest winds and surge). You could almost see the light come on in his tiny little bird brain, and for the next few nights he asked (or informed) every guest about that "right side, the right hook".

Now anybody with a lick of sense can look at the rotation of a storm (hell sailors know this by instinct) and figure this "right quad" thing out. But with Tweety it was like a great and profound truth that he just had to pass on....really kind of pathetic.

really. its that stupid superficial thinking by jackasses like matthews that highlight the intellectual bankrupcy of the media.

someone should tie him by the ankles, lift him with a chopper and play dunk the tweety bird in the NOLA toxic soup bowl.

of the issue. I've always felt Matthews was deeply troubled..had an identity crisis of some kind. I tend to always give excuses and "over-analyze" everything.

Posts 6, 8, 9 just said: Hey...he doesn't have his "porch light on."(paraphrase of all the comments, apologies)

I loved that. Maybe Chris just doesn't have all his bulbs burning and some of us in true Dem fashion go into psychoanalysis to explain him...when in fact he just isn't "With It" in the intelligence ability.

Cut to the chase...what I love about DU'ers! The different points of view!
