A thank you to Gen. Honore, Adm. Allen & troops
As progressives, liberals, Democrats, we know how to show respect and gratitude for the military and for good leadership.

I want to post this thread to thank General Honore and Admiral Allen for their hard work and leadership and wish them well in their efforts to help the survivors and to rebuild the blighted gulf states. They have a mountain of work to do and we support them.

Also to thank the uniformed men and women who serve our nation in this time of emergency in the gulf of Mexico.

And, our gratitude and prayers or good wishes to the 3,000 Louisiana guard who served in Iraq and now come return to find their homes destroyed.

Please join me in honor and respect and praise of these good folks.

I will wish them well but withhold my praise and gratitude until the job is done. Then when the whole record is laid out before me I can decide for myself if praise and gratitude are deserved.

7. Gen. Honore has a point- if my family was missing today
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 02:51 PM by bluedawg12
I would not want to see every body dredged up and wonder and fear if that was my beloved.

There is enough ugliness and horror from this that the world knows about and will not forget - I am OK with not seeing the bodies retrieved out of respect for the dead.

Now if they shoot pets- well, that sucks.

But I heard Admiral Allen defend the rescuing of pets in his first interview on the job. The guy has balls and stood up for animal rescue.

BTW- check out Noah's wish.org they rescue animals from disasters. good people.

13. Gen. Honore told troops to point "guns down"
when they enter the Superdome -

And Admiral Allen was on TV last night, he is Captain of the the Tortuga and they have been quietly working to save people and house them on board ship, and also 58 dogs.

Compared to the receding incompetent, poutty pudge face, Arabian horses ass sniffing, ( you're doing a heck of a job)turdie, these men are competent.

Give 'em a chance, we need help down there, these guys may be our best hope.

I'm goig with optimistic gut reaction.

judgement until the job is finished.
