he has only the New Orleans PD to do it. Honore said the military could not do it without the governor's backing, and Blaco has clearly stepped away from the idea of forced evacuations. I've heard that police from out of the state are helping--I wonder if Nagin is having them deputized as local police in order to have technical jurisdiction over them. At any rate he's on his own with this one for the time being.

4. What changed because of Waco?

The gov't fabricated most of the story.

They treated people in a house as a bunch of nutjobs that were going to run amok.

They shot up a house full of children.

They ran over their stuff and their graves in tanks.

They walked away, fully exonerated of wrong doing.

If it's Bush's Waco, you're right, nothing will change, nothing will be reported truthfully and nobody will care.
