Many of us are working hard to help assemble info on Katrina, elections reform, and other important topics -- yay!
I'm sure you've noticed, when you copy and paste text from a DU post, the link is often truncated. If you want to get the full link, you have to go back to the original, click on it, and copy the link from your browser -- a bit of a pain.
Alternatively, when you post something, you can check the little box (above the big Message composition box) that says, "Check here if you want to format your message in plain text". Then any links in your text will not be "clickable", but when folks try to copy and paste them, at least they get the full link--not truncated.
Here's my suggestion. Do your post the regular way, in HTML, so the links will be clickable for everyone. Then immediately REPLY to your own post and re-post the exact same info but check the box for plain text. That way anyone who wants to copy your info with the full links can easily get it from your reply.
PS -- momcat's got a Katrino info organization thread here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=106x22805If you're posting any info re- Katrina that might be helpful to our cause, take a look there and see if you can find a topic to post it under. PLS READ momcat's instructions at the top carefully, however, so the thread stays organized. Many thanks!
