FEMA responds to slow response, Cuts rap single
This comes right out of a posting on the FEMA web site. "Rap for Kids" Just shows what our tax dollars are funding:

Disaster . . . it can happen anywhere,
But we've got a few tips, so you can be prepared
For floods, tornadoes, or even a 'quake,
You've got to be ready - so your heart don't break.

Disaster prep is your responsibility
And mitigation is important to our agency.

People helping people is what we do
And FEMA is there to help see you through
When disaster strikes, we are at our best
But we're ready all the time, 'cause disasters don't rest. (apparently Michael Brown does though.....)

Check out the audio track for a laugh: http://www.fema.gov/kids/femarap.htm

3. Oh it would be so funny if it weren't so sad
I like how they rhymed "Responsibility" with "Agency". Artistic license be damned! We WILL rhyme words that do not rhyme at all!

And "mitigation"???? What kid knows what "mitigation" is ??? Hell, I'm 29 and I'm not even sure that *I* know what it means

oh ho ho ho ho ho. THis is the biggest belly-acher I've seen in a long time hah ah aha

5. Where's the stanza about dying of thirst and starvation?
I think they forgot that one. Or how about the moralizing one warning kids not to be looters?

Yo, that bling ain't yours,
So don't you take it.
Just sit and die,
The poor don't make it.

Out of touch. Nay, out of their minds.

10. Yo Yo Yo...
...helpin' you out is a State responsibility
The feds don't have the first priority
so if you gets killed don't say our name
No matter what happens, FEMA ain't to blame

Disaster prep is your mayor's responsibility
And Public Relations is important to our agency

Our boss is the greatest, he hepp' to train horses
He organizes us, gets us lots of Federal forces
But if we don't use 'em, it's the State's big shame
No matter what happens, FEMA ain't to blame

Disaster prep is the governor's responsibility
And public relations is important to our agency

All the president's horses and all his crony men
Look after each other, no matter how, where or when
So if the press conference means we drown a nursing home
No matter what happens, FEMA ain't to blame

Yo Yo Yo
No matter what happens, FEMA ain't to blame.
