Do you really think Brown "applied" for the job of FEMA head? Wake up people. He was hand picked as a political appointee for campaign and contribution rewards. The media is selling the talking points so fast my head is spinning. How fast they moved to get this shit into Time and NYT. How much of this shit are they going to shove down our gaping throats? I hope Brown spills the beans but I bet he fears for his own safety and that of his family.

3. Maybe, but Brown said OK, didn't he?
It doesn't matter who advised him to do it, or even if he did it himself. He let it happen, and that's the same as driving the getaway car in the robbery! BOTH are equally guilty!

Brown should have been fired, and I suspect he will be (Although, he's going to decide he just wants to spend more time with his family!)

Rove is going to be much more difficult to get!

6. Then that's his fault too! If you let other people toy with your life,
you have to accept the consequences of the results!

I always wrote my own resume's but if I contracted someone else to do it, it's MY FAULT if things are in it that aren't true!

12. I agree. Brown needs as much accountability as the rest.
He could have said no.

7. I doubt it...
... Allbaugh brought in Brown because he was an old college buddy, and Allbaugh was Bush's chief of staff when Bush was governor of Texas--Allbaugh could do just about anything he wanted. As I recall, there was virtually no discussion of Brown's background in his confirmation hearings--from start to finish, including all the hail-fellow-well-met bullshit, it was only about forty minutes.

Initially, Brown wasn't important to anyone, Rove included. The only reason there's any scrutiny of him is because Katrina relief is a cocked-up mess.

Brown made his resume seem appropriate to the job, that's all. It's so common today that one can't begin to describe the breadth of cheating on resumes. The last estimate I read is that at least 30% of all resumes have at least one substantive outright lie in them.

Before assuming that Rove is somehow responsible for the actions of everyone in the Bush administration, pick up David Callahan's The Cheating Culture. In a snake-pit of cronyism and corruption like the Bush administration, they're all telling lies, about themselves, what they've done, what they believe, what they've stolen.

Cheers.

10. Excellent point
These are the people who waited until the sunset was just right before they flew Bush in for his "Mission Accomplished" speech. Are they not going to scrutinize a resume even if it's from one of Bush's friends? Of COURSE Brown's background was checked. But if he HAD to have the job, inventing a resume was as easy as Ann Coulter at a Republican fundraising event!

14. They (MSM) still keep hinting about Brown's bio/resume. Rove is the one
who is responsible for getting shit like this together to sell the public on Bush's lame selections...excuse, me, the neocon's lame selections. Rove and Card and Karen. They help pump these goons up.
