I wondered if they were afraid of liability issues vis a vis someone getting hit by a car in the traffic jams that tend to result before and after games. I haven't been by the Dome in the past few days, but last weekend, there was a lot of foot traffic at the Reliant Center with the evacuees coming and going. Imagine that happening after dark, with tons of cars and buses and kids darting in and out. Not good PR if someone gets hit. I've wondered if they were going to move whoever's left in the Dome to the convention center, which would actually be a step up when it comes to shelter accommodations: air mattresses instead of cots, and a friend who's volunteered at both places has the personal opinion that things are running more smoothing at the convention center.
