Will the Katrina survivors be able to sue the government
when the shock wears off and they start to get their lives back?
Like in a class action suit for negligence? Any lawyers here have an opinion?

2. Yes, that's why they set up the 9/11 Victim's Fund
Payouts averaged $1.2 million. It was largely to avert the prospect of thousands of lawsuits.

Of course, we won't see anything like it here. Just some "tort reform" laws to make it even harder for victims to access the courts.
