I got my first hate mail!
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 06:12 PM by Pacifist Patriot
Thanks to my letters to the editor, I received this today.

Dear Leftist Liberal:

It must be hell on earth to be a mean-spirited , looney, leftist-liberal Democrat! Your contribution to society is the negative bashing of President Bush; how pitiful.

As a member of the minority, keep up your ignorance and continue to the destruction of the minority party.

We love winning elections, thank you.

Sincerely,
Thomas W. Matey
Violet A. Matey
Somewhere in...
----------

They sent this to everyone who had written negative letters to the editor this week and copied Florida Today and the Orlando Sentinel. They also attached some articles that I guess I'm supposed to read, but I have better things to do with my time.

I have fantasizes of responding with a letter loaded with biblical quotes, letting them know that Jesus personally told me Bush was the anti-Christ, citing the ways he is violating the cherished values of right to life, fiscal responsibility, honesty and integrity (not to mention propping up corporations with WELFARE!) and then signing off by praying for their salvation....but I think I'll ignore it.

Edited to remove the moron's exact address.

Guess you must be one of those folks who want to live in a totalitarian state and won't be happy until you do.

54. I guess everyone has the right
to speak from devine inspiration, but there IS such a thing as integrity. The only trouble is that if you go around telling people that God and Jesus are talking to you, they'll put you in a mental hospital for observation (unless you're a TV preacher). I know this - I used to work for a psychiatric hospital. A good percentage of the folks there were there because God was talking to them, but sometimes it was just the TV sending them subliminal messages.

• Former Notre Dame All-America golfer Tom Matey ('53) posted the 13th victory of his amateur career by winning the 2004 club championship at Orange Tree Golf Club in Orlando. The 72-year-old rallied to shoot his age in winning the medal-play title. Matey is president of Las Olas Resorts (Cocoa Beach), which recently received the prestigious Gold Crown designation from Resort Condominiums International (RCI).

with which to refute a person's negative statements, to simply call that person "mean-spirited."

That way, they can try to make YOU look like the bad guy, rather than them. "Who cares if you're right about what you say; you're just so MEAN to say it."
