That's what this presidency is, in a nutshell. You literally can't keep up. And it goes right back to the very beginning. Just when you're shouting about Outrage 'A', Outrage 'B' comes along right on it's heels, and you have to juggle and prioritize. And so on. This too, it would seem to me, is Rovian in nature and intent. Make it so the people can't keep up, or can't remember what they're supposed to be mad about now, give them more and more to deal with, and they'll have to let some of it drop for fear of breaking under the weight.
And so it goes, as Linda Ellerbee might say.
Ignoring Richard Clarke's Al Qaida warnings, begat the August 6th PDB, begat 9/11, begat Tora Bora, begat WMD's, begat the later-revealed DSM, begat Powell's UN vial-waving, begat the 16 words, begat Mission Accomplished, begat Abu Ghraib, begat there are no WMD's, begat the Swift Boating, begat the bulge under the jacket, begat the e-voting/Ohio voting scandal, begat "I want to thank Karl Rove.....the architect", begat Gannon/Guckert, begat Armstrong Williams, begat the now-revealed DSM, begat "I have to get on with my life", begat golf, guitar and cake, begat......"Brownie, you're doin' a heck of a job".
