A little help please - DO NOT CALL LIST
I am getting more and more calls (just now from National Health something at 514 958-0000) even though I am on the don't call list. Is there a way to report this and actually get them in trouble ?

2. When they call
tell the immediately that your are on the no call list They will hang up, then go on the No call website and report the number.

3. Is this about Medicare part D?
I heard those calls were exempted from the DNC lists. I'm not 100% sure though.

9. Don't think so. They have called repeatedly - its just
regular medical insurance. The message starts "Are you or members of your family without health insurance? If so ..."

4. Is it a charity? I think they're exempt.
I know I've gotten maybe 2 dozen calles in the last week or so from Charities. The local police, someone collecting for stop drunk driving, treatment for teens on drugs, and every other local charity I haven't heard of! I'm not sure, but I think charities and political campaigns were exempted from the DNC list.

6. Look in your phone book for
this number you can call to block phone calls. I remember our local news did an investigation about the "no call list" and apparently they sell the information to other companies so it's not really a "no call" list. It's lying. My mom just blocks the numbers that she doesn't want and they can't get through. It should be in your phone book in the first part of it.

8. I Think
That that area code does not come under the jurisdiction of the no call list.

12. I Think
That it is a Montreal, Quebec area code. As such it comes under Canadian CRTC regulations.

Which also brings up a neat question about VOIP.

14. Do you always refuse to listen to them and explicitly ask them to remove..
you from their calling list when they call? I always politely refuse to speak with them at the beginning of the conversation, and ask to be removed. I don't hesitate to interrupt them to stop them from going full steam ahead with their spiel, but I try to be polite otherwise. (However, if they would continue to call, I wouldn't be nearly so polite.) This has worked for me. (Maybe I've just been lucky.)
