....also, I think democrats were in the majority before 74 election

also note, totally different media atmosphere

....IMO, 74 elections plus the gains of blacks and women in the 60s caused the RW to regroup and organize leading to 1994 and 2000 so that they could turn the clock back to the 'real america' of white male rule and the regulation-free (and no National Parks) of the robber barons era before Teddy Roosevelt's clean-up
