Imagine the scenario of Katrina hitting in an all-Freeper world.....
Would they all drown because none of them would offer any help to each other...each one would just go to their own little corner...and count their money?

would they all drown because they would be waiting to be rescued by their freeper leadership...which of course we know is completely ineffective?

Or, would they just start denying the truth - what storm? What water? Who can we blame this on?

Honestly, after reading some of the posts here - esp. the one on "GOP having problems finding the right tone re Katrina" - what is this about "finding a tone"? Either you can empathize, feel pain and suffering, or you can't. What we saw this week was the real Bush, real Cheney, etc - Katrina came from above, was not part of Rove's plan, caught them all entirely off guard, and laid bare for all the world to see what unfeeling, selfish, callous, empty, ineffectual people they all are. We here have known this for 5 years. It is a crime and a tragedy that it took an event that cost thousands of lives, created a world of hurt and suffering, and (further) blew our world reputation.

How many years will it take to undo the harm that the past 5 (and next 3? say it ain't so....impeach now!!!!) years have done.

Wishing people will die, or ill fate befall them, is horrible.

Consider your words.

View the images of the east Texas Baptist church's sign associating NOLA with Soddam and Gamorrah - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=1765814&mesg_id=1765814 - and ask yourself, am I any better than this vile view of live?

2. the weight of the gold in their pockets would pull them under the current.
and instead of emptying their pockets, they'd drown.

4. How would you know it happened?
There would be no money available for prevention, relief, or rescue operations.

There would be no free-press allowed anywhere near the disaster area.

They would shoot anyone that wasn't white and armed.

Basically there is no way the rest of the sane world would know that particular scenario even happened.

:D

5. But they wouldn't loot...
They'd all stand around with their guns pointed at each other -- holding stalemate, each one a sheriff unto himself -- until they all died of dehydration...

But once the bodies are cleared away, the retail goods in Wal Mart would still be safe and sound.

6. I think you might be wrong with your theory.
Look at how many hurricanes have hit Florida!

Alabama and Miss. were both hit, and Miss was hit very hard by Katrina!

I'm quite surprised that the media seems to only be concentrating on NO!

Yes, I realize that NO has been hurt much harder because of the flooding, but other than Shrub and Cheney visiting AL and Ms, that's about all the coverage they get!

I don't hear any Pubs complaing about anything in those States! I don't live in any of them, thank God, but I would be pissed if I did live in Al (just next foor from me) or Ms. THEIR Pres seems to be ignoring them, and so is the Press!

9. OK, then why haven't we heard that?
All I'm saying is that we don't hear anything about those two states in the MSM.

I think we should be hearing if the lights are back on, or how many people have been evacuated because they don't have homes anymore!

If the Feds are helping those two states more than La, then we should hear that too!

13. It's not happening,
Alabama did not have nearly the damage Mississippi had.
Alabama is still cleaning up and having problems. No NG or FEMA presence that I have heard of...no news here.
People cleaning up their own property, power company working on power.

CNN-Anderson Cooper has been in Mississippi (nearly)the whole time. Plenty of coverage there and they are getting help this past week, they got very little before that.
The Mexican Marine Corp got there last evening.

8. This Hurricane will affect everyone soon enough, including FReepers...
However, that just means their cross-burnings will start to look like Spinal Tap, with 3 foot crosses because it costs too much to burn a good ole 15 foot cross like them good old days

11. Here is what would happen in the perfect Freeper world
Edited on Sat Sep-10-05 12:05 AM by jzodda
The media, public and gov would call it a "state" problem. No federal gov help or money would flow to the area at all.

If you were too poor to leave and died then that would be just "the way it is" Remember the freepers always blame the poor for being poor. There is never any room for compromise and everything has a price attached to it.

In their perfect world the Feds would hardly exist at all and the poor are nothing but bugs to be shunned or exploited. Any relief that the state could not handle would have to be done by volunteers or private companies. What did not get rebuilt would become a wasteland and nobody is supposed to care because the market sets all priorities in their perfect world.
