Today's ROVEmeme: 'Katrina wasn't as deadly as we thought'
Everyone notice this in the MSM concerning loss of life? This is another damage control balloon and another of those lies they love to feed to the media.

1. We won't actually know how many died for several months, if not a year.

2. People won't be focused then. Instead all they remember is 'it wasn't as deadly as they said it would be...'

Feel free to bang your head on the desk now!

1. roves counting on the pumps to grind them up
and he has scattered all the survivors to the four winds so they'll never know if their loved ones lived or died.

Ethnic clensing, Rove style.

2. How will we ever know?
Not to be gruesome, but I don't believe we'll ever have an accurate body count, in any circumstances. How many boodies were washed away, or buried under tons of silt, etc.

3. Just the normal Bushbot mantra
Don't worry...Be happy. Iraq and Katrina are only a figment of the liberal imagination.

4. Remember the flood of discussion last weekend about 10,000 deaths....
....seems like the number 10,000 was being tossed out there by a lot of people in the administration and media....so that if only 6000 are found dead, it looks like good news.

11. 25,000 body bags, but only 6,000 bodies found. Time to celebrate life.
Rove is a master of the expectations game.

And they're still continuing to do them, even though they've virtually been called out on them.

The lies are catching up with you, Karl, and the BushCO/neoCONmonsters. You "thought" you could out do Hitler, even in a country built upon values you do NOT give a shit about.

When your time comes, the soul of humanity will rejoice. Imagine that, you TAKERS!!! Imagine THAT!!!

9. They primed us with "only 10,000" a few days ago...
...now they inject "not as bad as we thought."

There's no way the entire city has been swept for corpses already. This is bullshit spin.

13. Also notice how they won't actually say what that expectation was!
What number WERE you thinking of KKKarl?

Just wait, the water is just beginning to recede enough so that you can see MOST of the roof tops in St. Bernard and southern Plaqemines Parish's, they are expecting to find a lot of dead people who were trapped in their homes by the floods.

14. God help them if they don't try to tell the truth
The people of the Gulf Coast will create their own lists of their dead and missing. We won't have to wait for Massa Bush or Massa Rove to feed us another pack of lies. The truth will come out and God help those who cover up and lie about the dead.

16. This is how it will work -- Rove's Secret Plan
1. By early next year, we will have an official Body Count. It will probably be under 5,000.

2. The Press will agree: "Only 5000 dead! Praise be to Lord Bush!"

3. Meanwhile, there will be 55,000 missing.

4. Only a few people will be asking what happened to them.

5. Charles Murray and/or Bjørn Lomborg will prove, mathematically, that that 55,000 number is the exact number of redneck and black men who have evaded child support to the mothers of their "hundreds" of children. They obviously must have used Katrina to legally disappear.

6. Rove will craft a campaign to convince the world that those 55,000 missing people are all deadbeat dads whose moral bearings had been destroyed by years of brainwashing by feminist lesbian Nazi wicca drug-using liberal atheist followers of Hillary who taught their kids to read using the See-Say Method, rather than Phonics.

7. Pigs will take flight. Chickens will do the Macarena. Monkeys will fly out of my ass. Jesus will return and sell diet pills. The Lion will lie down with the Lamb and practice Safe Sex. Alien Space Brothers will announce their presence and offer us the secrets to immortality, faster-than-light spaceflight, and good TV programming. I will spend $40 for a pamphlet that will show me how to increase the size of my penis AND get laid like a rock star -- and it will work.

And then the universe will collapse in on itself as all matter rushes together to re-constitute the Great Cosmic Egg. At which point the DMT will wear off and I'll ask the scientist doing the study to inject me with another 50 mg., please.

19. Too close to the reality of the situation
Many poor people will never register or ask for any help...

They will simply fade into the woodwork.

You are right... we will never fully know the death toll.

The federal government is trying to purchase an additional 50,000 body bags for use in the Hurricane Katrina cleanup and in Iraq, according to an official for a Modesto manufacturer.
Previously, the Federal Emergency Management Administration purchased 25,000 body bags and shipped them to New Orleans.

"We recently delivered every bag we had in stock, which is about 400," said John Hassapakis, manager of Central Valley Professional Services in Modesto. "Those were sent directly to New Orleans."

This week the government put out a bid for 50,000 more bags, he said.

22. If the (real) death total turns out to be < 10,000, it's no thanks to Bush
This is a very powerful meme. Everyone *wants* there to be fewer people dead; it makes this all easier to bear. The media needs to be present in NO to keep track of what's going on. I wonder if the NAACP or the Urban League are concerned and would organize something like this?

I actually have been thinking that some group other than the media needs to be there. The media are going to lose interest; we need to have people there observing what's going on. I frankly have zero confidence in the honesty of the Bush administration.

It may be possible to keep a count of the deaths by asking people to list family members who have died, but that's not as easy as it sounds. It's a difficult thing to ask people to do.

journalists had guns pointed at them when they tried to photograph corpses.

Eleanor Clift was hammering home why dead bodies were bad for Bush. She also said that's why they didn't the press in there.

Check PBS listing in your area for the rebroadcast.

that increased the death toll after the storm had passed. People who survived the storm died waiting for rescue and basic necessities of life.

While Bushco dithered and argued over control, in one parish a search and rescue team from CANADA was on the scene and rescuing folks. They got there before the feds. Lucky for the parish. If FEMA had been there first they might have turned the Canadians away.
