Media never asked "Why not Debit Card" ?
What happen to the Debit card? where is the Debit card?

Are the poor not worth of Debit card?

Ask what happened to the Debit card....

George Costanza never wanted to rescue anyone with his Debit card either...

that once they started handing out the cards that many were reported as being stolen.

2. direct deposit takes less staff to process they say
It would make sense to have those who can accept direct deposit to get that and those who can't get the debit cards. Sense and this administration's minions have never mixed though.

3. Don't forget the WAIVER they have to sign--I've heard NO media say that.
Edited on Sat Sep-10-05 09:30 AM by tjdee
I have heard twice on TV this morning that the debit cards were cancelled because FEMA didn't have the "personnel" or "resources" necessary.

But fuck those cards. One person gets $300, and the LIMIT for a family is $2000. And they have to sign a waiver saying they won't seek further assistance, according to a post on DU yesterday. I have not heard anyone in the media say this, and it's an outrage.
(on edit: Can someone find a link about the waiver and the "up to" $2000? I've seen the "up to 2000" on tv, but as I said, nothing at all except on DU about the waiver.)

$300 is not enough for a downpayment on an apartment, and it doesn't compensate for the government (local/fed/whatever) malfeasance. It doesn't compensate for not knowing where your relatives are, having to live in the Superdome for five days, etc. etc.

Disgusting.
