How's Dean doing it?
I like him, but I heard that man barely knows how to turn on a computer.

3. What does technical knowledge have to do
with computer skills, and programming? Doctors have technical skills in medicine.

4. why would you need a candidate that could program anyway?
I'd hope he'd hire people to do that.

5. I would imagine they would have some work typing up perscriptions, ect.

9. LOL
Trippi's fairly technologically inclined, isn't he? Plus he's got a crackerjack IT staff.

8. Nonsense...
...Howard Dean helped me install the newest version of Slackware on my computer, and recompile the kernel for optimal performance with my Bt848 tv capture card...

In regards to actual technical literacy, closest we've come to a Geek-in-Chief is Gore, hands down. He wasn't a tech geek per se, but he had more technical expertise than any other contender. Dean simply sees the value of the Internet in regards to organization, and has some sharp staff and supporters. If he needs tech help, I'll be glad to assist...

10. More like Dean's supporters know computers
The Dean staff didn't help the net supporters get the ball rolling, but they didn't squash their efforts either. Before the Dean staff knew it, there was a huge online organization, and they've been riding it ever since.

11. His secret: He never moves his head for any reason

He swore never to move his head long before he entered politics.

There is a tragic story behind this bizarre vow, watch your supermarket checkout stand for the inside scoop!

12. He's got a fantastic staff.
Howard focuses on being the candidate. His campaign manager, Joe Trippi, gets a lot of the credit for bringing Internet innovations to political campaigning. And there's a fantastic staff that keeps the whole operation up and running.

Howard doesn't do the programming, tweak servers or compile Apache, but he agrees with the bottom-up, self-organizing nature of the technologies used; it dovetails with the 'You have the power to take this country back' nature of the campaign.

13. I remember reading about Trippi having tried this
internet based campaigning before, without success. But he didn't think the method was flawed, just that it wasn't time yet.

Besides, they've already hired 2 of our Georgia volunteers to help out with the computer stuff. I guess they liked the www.georgiafordean.com site!
