register as he goes on his way. The working poor, the disabled, the elderly. They're all around.

But they don't go to his club although they might work there. He doesn't have lunch with them, although they might wait on him. And presumably he doesn't volunteer visiting folks in nursing homes and hospitals. Or volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Or chat up the garbageman or the newspaper delivery guy.
