1. Lovely. Just the added ingredient we needed. Makes me think even
more of "The Stand".

2. this is what I have feared all along
that all of these toxins are in the water, hence in the people that had ANY contact with it whatsoever. All that have survived should be in quarantine. Who knows what illnesses they might manifest. Does anyone care? Seems not does it?

What about a pandemic beyond all belief?

:scared:

You better believe it!

3. You forgot
Tulane's School of Tropical Medicine & Public Health. Its connected to their medical school, and they do a LOT of research -- including live animal.

They are among the few schools specializing in Tropical disease research in the country.

4. this is not a problem
yes, the facility in covington has a nasty hobby of letting its animals escape from time to time but covington is fine, the lights are on, it's open for business

i was in covington on thursday, my husband was there today, there is no disease, no monkeys, it's cool

we have real problems to worry abt

i will admit it was funny the time some of the monkeys got loose on the grounds of a xtian private school but that was a few yrs ago now

no one has ever gotten an illness, even a sniffle, from these animals

there weren't even any mosquitoes, the wind apparently blew them off, & spraying starts again, i think tomorrow

the worst pests were the damn love bugs, who come every september to spoil the paint job on yr car, hurricane or not

so don't catastrophize, it ain't helpful to ppl who actually live in the area, we don't need ppl to treat us like typhoid mary spreading our germs

5. I certainly did not mean to infer that the people of New Orleans...
were like typhoid mary spreading germs, sorry you took it that way.
I am trying to make an observation, these things have many layers of danger to those affected directly and those in the clean up aspect of this scenario. This could be the case in many Cities across the Nation that have labs and would have an earthquake for example or some other disaster that would crumble the infrastructure.
Am glad to know that this particular area is safe, and am glad you and your husband are safe too.
Peace,
Mom
