People waited in line 2 hrs for gas cards..and didn't get one

I talked to a relative of an evacuee family yesterday (they are in Houston).

I don't know if it was Red Cross, but someone was handing out gas cars to evacuees in Houston, some people waited in line for 2 hours, only to be told that there were no more cards.

FEMA is putting people up for 2 more weeks in hotels.

Re: the direct deposit FEMA $$. One family member gave FEMA his direct deposit info while a few other family members were going to do so the next day. The family member who gave the info GOT the money, the ones that waited didn't---the money offer was stopped before they could get the info to FEMA. The person who did give the info got the money the next day.

They are from St Bernard Parish--the locals there feel totally ignored by the government. A local official was scheduled to be on some talk shows this week to talk about these problems but got bumped off---including Larry King Live--by other guests.
