When are Republican voters going to worry about the corporate welfare?
The Republicans that I know are always bitching about the handful of programs that are left to help the poor in this country, such as subsidized housing or health care, food stamps, etc. One of them told me that we're "virtually a socialized state." When I bring up the billions in federal tax dollars that are being used for "incentives" to the oil companies which are already making record profits, my comments kind of just bounce off of them and they don't want to respond. During this same discussion, a few Republican Catholics were even bitching about the soup kitchen that the Church operates.

I don't understand the modern "conservative" mind. Why is helping out the poor a constant gripe for them, but they keep voting for leaders who give BILLIONS in handouts to big corporations which don't need any more money? I guess the Republican mind only cares about dividend checks or tax cuts, so the corporate welfare set up by the Republicans and financed by selling our economic future to China helps increase those payouts.

I just can't express how outraged I am about the greed, extreme shortsightedness, and selfishness exhibited by so many people in the country today.

4. Funny..we were just discussing this today. Ignorance is bliss for them.
They choose to ignore what facts they don't like or justify it somehow. It is amazing.

5. My theory is that they are hopelessly submissive.
The whole republican party is a game of bondage dominance and submission that we outsiders can't understand! :)

6. Several years ago I was able to get the amount spent on both.
Regular welfare got a lot more money than corporate welfare. However, that was before * and Afghanistan and Iraq. Kind of hard to beat $1 billion a week.
