NPR Weekend Edition Sunday "Voices In The News" today |
|
had some good quotes- two of particular note:
Laura Bush (paraphrased) "The hospitality is amazing. A lot of these people came from poor backgrounds so they're doing quite well here" NOTE: can't find exact quote but will edit if they post it on NPR shortly.
And the "Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney. Go fuck yourself!" "You get a lot of that?" "First time I've heard it- must be a Friend of John Ke- oh never mind"...
I was stunned that they had quotes that were in any way detrimental to the currant regime!
You go, NPR! Give us more!

1. slight trivial correction |

it was *'s mother Barbara who said that the people were doing quite well because most of them were underprivileged.
Laura just referred to hurricane Katrina as hurricane Corinna.
They're all totally clueless.

2. We'll know they have really gone off the reservation |
|
if they have an interview with Dr. Ben Marble, the ER physician who uttered those words at Cheney.

7. Only handcuffed and detained for 20 minutes |
|
which sounds like out and out intimidation to me. The MPs asked for his information, then finally uncuffed him, saying it was his first amendment right to say that to the vp.

6. They should have included |
|
Aaron Broussard:"Yeah, mama, someone's coming for ya. They promised to send help on Tuesday. They promised to send help on Wednesday. They promised to send help on Thursday. They promised to send help on Friday. And on Friday night she drowned."
Everyone in American should hear that.
