If President Gore had lied us into a disastrous war, and then failed
to act when tornadoes destroyed Topeka, Kansas, with his criminal negligence resulting in the massive unnecessary death and suffering of thousands and thousands of Americans, and then saw his support from the American people sink to below 40%,

1. Would the Republicans allow him to appoint two far left wing candidates to serve on the Supreme Court for the next three or four decades, and;

2. Would the Republicans attempt to impeach him (and, if in the minority, would they at least attempt to create a groundswell to force Democrats to join them in an effort to impeach)?

If the Republicans attempted to do #1 and/or #2, would you accuse them of acting against the best interests of the nation?

2. If a Democrat had tried these lies on
There'd be no way there'd even be a vote in Congress to give war powers to the President.

4. Agreed. The double standard is both mind boggling and sickening.

7. True enough. I wish the Democrats would work harder at confronting
it. Lying a nation into a hugely costly war deserves serious consequences.

3. Gore would have been impeached
As soon as it was discovered there were no WMD. If not sooner.

5. President Gore wouldn't have done such crazy azz stuff in the first place.
Al Gore has shown himself to be a human being of TRUE compassion, intelligence, caring and ACTION.

Sorry but I can't wrap my mind around him being otherwise, even more so after reading about and seeing the pictures of how he helped in NO.

6. He wouldnt have. There probably wouldnt have been a 9/11.
In the least not the same disastrous 9/11 and
the response would have not been as damaging to america.
Haiti would still have their elected president.
There wouldnt be devastation and death in the middle east with us in a quagmire.
Our economy would be in much much much better shape.
We wouldnt have record poverty, we wouldnt have record numbers of people with no health coverage, we wouldnt have had our salaries stagnant for 5 years.
We wouldnt have soaring oil prices, the people of California would have gotten justice from the energy pirates.
We wouldnt have supported a coup in venezuela and we would have a decent relationship with them now. The largest oil producer in our hemisphere.
And Gore would not have been strumming while the poor of NO drown and died.

Nope. It would have been a continuation of the promise and hope we had under Clinton.
President Gore would have also hopefully tried to undo some of the mistakes, NAFTA, unfair WTO policy and Media Reform for starters.

It would have been a better world but the republicans would still be screaming and trying to destroy it. But why are they so hateful and greedy? It it beyond comprehension.

8. I honestly don't believe he would have, BUT,
IF he had done the things that Bushit has done to our country, I would speak out just as strongly against him as I do against Bushit.

Actions speak louder than words, and go beyond politics.

9. if Gore had let this happen to New Orleans, I would be disgusted
After all, he warned of just such a thing in his book, years ago. I would expect him to be aware of the issues.

Not that I'm letting Bush off the hook for anything. If he wanted the job, he should have been prepared to do the homework for it.
