Cover-up: toxic waters 'will make New Orleans unsafe for a decade'
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article311818.ece

Toxic chemicals in the New Orleans flood waters will make the city unsafe for full human habitation for a decade, a US government official has told The Independent on Sunday. And, he added, the Bush administration is covering up the danger.

In an exclusive interview, Hugh Kaufman, an expert on toxic waste and responses to environmental disasters at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), said the way the polluted water was being pumped out was increasing the danger to health.

The pollution was far worse than had been admitted, he said, because his agency was failing to take enough samples and was refusing to make public the results of those it had analysed. "Inept political hacks" running the clean-up will imperil the health of low-income migrant workers by getting them to do the work.

1. I have a dream ...
In it I see the Bushoilini Regime having a White House dinner for the senior members of the regime and their families, and they are served oysters from SE Louisiana oyster beds.

Chow down you fascist fucks!

2. This does not shock me. Just think what they did to NY after
911. EPA said the air was safe, etc, and we know now that was not true then. Many have life long health conditions from the rescue and continuing to live in the apartments, etc, that were covered in the dust from the fall of the towers. I've seen and heard environmentalist speaking of these lies regarding NY.

Didn't the LSU prof say that NO would be surrounded by "toxic gumbo" in his portrayal of worse case scenario?

I have the clip from CNN. I was so upset to see them start pumping that gumbo back into the lake. This is going to affect the entire Gulf Coast region, not just NO now.
