My wishes for the Democratic Party
It seems now would be a perfect time for members of the Dem party to come forward and offer alternatives to the American public. Show some leadership. Instead of "playing the blame game," show there are leadership possibilities out there, better alternatives.

I heard a lot of talk after the 2004 elections that there just seemed to be no clear difference between Kerry and Shrub, so why change horses, blah, blah, blah. I agree those that voted for Shrub in 2004 are complicit in this disasterous response in the Gulf Coast, those voters told this Administration that it was okay to appoint inadequately qualified people as a reward for raising money because their "leader" in inadequate.

The dems should be stepping up to the plate, IMO, not just pointing out the mismanagement of Katrina, we can all see that on Television (even if some don't "get it."), and tell the that we are NOT safer on Shrub's watch.

Finally, the Dem party needs to get a good PR department like Shrub's. That is what is pushing this administration IMO, they hired people to stage a production called the "Presidency of the Divided States," and it obviously works for them. Take some lessons from the Repugs about how they play the game and use it to our advantage (when I say our, I don't mean Dems but the American people).

Sorry 'bout the rant but I want to see my party step-up to the plate and get in the freakin' game.

1. my wish is for a real leader in the FDR mold . . .
someone who will stand up and tell the truth about BushCo and what they're doing to this country . . . and the continuing danger they pose to the continuation of life on the planet . . . someone who will decline to take ANY corporate contributions for any reason whatsoever . . . and someone who can lay out a plan to reclaim control of the government from the corporate oligarchy and return it to the people . . .

2. I agree
The Dems should be burying the Republicans right now, but it just ain't happening. Mary Landrieu, bless her heart, has got her own hands full helping out the survivors of Katrina, but where the hell is Howard Dean?

3. I hate to be "playing politics" with a disaster

But it really needs to be done. All dems should be standing up and shouting at the top of their lungs that this administrations' handling of Katrina shows the very level of incompetence that is bringing this country to a new low.

And quite frankly should be using 9/11 as a talking point as well. If the response to Katrina is any indication to what the tax dollars are doing at the HSD, we are in serious trouble when it comes to terrorism. This country is obviuosly not safe with these people at the wheel.

edit: for poor grammar usage
