Does motive really matter?
I have no earthly idea if Bush is a racist or if he cares about most people. No one really has an idea. We aren't mind readers.

We should discuss results. New Orleans flooded and the government did diddly. Those were the results. Blame should be laid at FEMA's feet as well as the President who replaced the dedicated professionals appointed by Clinton with political hacks who had run horse shows, advanced the Bush campaign, and did other things political hacks do. Those are demonstrable and provable facts. The mindset of Bush isn't. At the end of the day the people are no less dead if he had pure motives than if he didn't.

The whole idea of Bush caring is part of gotcha journalism. By discussing an unprovable mindset instead of provable results we are letting Bush get away with being the incompetent hacks that they are. We shouldn't.

1. anyone of us
know bush the person? I don't to me he is a fake image on TV,his persona is a a mask. When I get a glimpse of his callous disregard of others in crisisand his chronyism with Lott andd his willingness to hurt the poorest workers cleaning up the disaster by cutting thier pay I see a person different from the pewrsona..I see a sociopath wearing a false mask personallity created by PR and scripting..In reality bush is a stranger that is put in power by people who trust someone with no way to judge thier character.

3. Matters in two cases: when you are adresssing the "Morality" crowd
To them, Satan is around every corner, under every seat cushion. They live their lives in abject fear of Satan and his evil influence. Their God is powerless to save them from temptation, so if you can convince them that someone is demonic, they will avoid that person like the plague.

It matters when you are teaching children about what "good" does and what "evil" does, as far as human behavior goes. The BFEE is a great example of who NOT to be as we teach our kids.

4. both of those assume we have proven the unprovable
We can't prove Bush is evil or racist. We can only look at his actions and let people judge.
