Wolfie just slammed bloggers
Saying that the mainstream media won't show faces of bodies, but bloggers not so much.

1. A slam, yes...
But also in that slam is the implication that bloggers will show you the truth, media will not.

I'm sure Wolf didn't mean for that point to come across, however.

14. You oughta listen to Stephanie Miller's show
Jim Ward, her partner on the show and "Voice Guy Extraordinaire", does a great impression of Blitzer.

6. What's true though is that you have a choice with Blogs whether to look
at the pictures or not. The TV Media feels it's a taste problem and in some ways I can agree that pix of alligators and dogs eating bodies, or bloated bodies that have floated for days are not something that folks want their kids seeing.

That's different from showing coffins coming home from Iraq, though. The pictures of those caskets coming home should be shown and weren't.

In the case of close ups of Katrina bodies it would bother lots of "sensitives," elderly and children.

I know many here feel they want to see those bodies on CNN/MSNBC because it would make everything more real, though. Just as some of us who didn't support Iraq Invasion might think that showing brutally blown up and maimed photo's of our soldiers and Iraqi Civiilians might turn public opinion away from the occupation. It's a hard question to answer.

7. earlier the wolf-man told the audience he had tape of dead bodies he was
going to show later because first he wanted to go to Gen. Honoré and ask about some statements the Gen. Honoré had made ... my husband and out were leaving the house at the time wolf-man was spinning his report about the dead bodies and "going to show them later"... so i don't know if he ever did -- but i told my husband, i am willingto bet that as time went on, he "forgot" to put the dead bodies on the air. i may be wrong, though.}(

8. Now, now, wolfster - your envy is showing - again...
The smart Bloggers have universally panned the excitement challenged and boring Blitzed One. Cafferty, Cooper, the CNN war correspondents, Meserve are earning some major kudos lately, and yep the blogosphere has noticed. Wolf, Not. So. Much.

9. Are you kidding Sheep Blitzer ..

is a DISGRACE to the meaning of journalism. He only reports the neo-cons agenda. He is on Rove's Favorite list. Part of the Spin doctors staff.

10. confusion ensued after that remark
nobody in the panel knew anything about bloggers and what they were doing, even Wolfie. The woman panelist seemed to be saying that bloggers were helping despite the risk to privacy. And they black guy said lots of people were just taking their boats to go help, and why shouldn't they?

Nobody seemed to know what they were talking about. Doesn't FEMA discourage the small boaters cuz they can just add another person to the # needing rescue in these conditions? Maybe they should, or maybe not.
Nobody knew.

11. Wolfie an d Howie were also trying to imply that
the press had suddenly discovered a social obligation where the poor are concerned. These media sots have spent so much time sucking up to power, particularly people like Wolfie & Russert. I can't see them shedding their expensive suits to go into an impoverished area to actually do some hardhitting journalism.

16. And let me guess . . .
When a Bush administration toady said, "Oh yeah, those are new swimming pools we've installed for the use and recreation of the people of New Orleans," Leslie nodded sagely and said, "Okay, thanks. So there you have it: The people of New Orleans are being given swimming pools and hot tubs through FEMA. Now this."

on the internet will show anything - even the kidnapped in Iraq being executed. CNN has a policy of only showing the dead in context and in the least gruesome way.

In other news..it is the plan of the Rovbots to paint anyone following the katrina story this far as "ghouls".They've been at that for days. Ever since CNN took them to court in order to be able to investigate the story of those that died.

I think CNN is being played is being sent emails about how ghoulish they are. First the frenzy of crank calls was to the Congressional Black Caucus. Anderson Cooper mentioned getting crank calls on his cell while he was doing journalism. Perhaps CNN is trapped by emails accusing them on being ghouls.

You know...so Rove's people can feel superior because they are not ghoulish like the l i b e r a l media. And then they get to do their superior dance. Which stopped when it turned out it was old white people in wheelchairs who dround in New Orleans.

19. Wolf Blitzer is an idiot. Do you all ever listen to what he is actually..
saying when he is doing his show? He says the stupidest things. His analyses are straight up hiarious some times. When you hear him saying "uhh" a lot, focus on what he is saying. You'll be surprised at the stuff he babbles.

He may sounds like a news personality, but he is not a very bright person for what he does. You can see he gets his talking points and what he has to say in his boring monotone voice.

20. Agreed.
I'll never forget how stupid he was asking Bill Clinton about Monica Lewinsky right in front of British PM Tony Blair.

He started to ask it, and Clinton cut him off, it was so inappropriate.

23. Any slam on bloggers is dangerous.
If Wolfie's view becomes the norm, ie- that internet bloggers don't self-censor enough, there will be a call for regulation.

Licenses. Censorship. Jail.

Remember in the years to come that I predicted the death of a free internet press.
