If the Repubs maintain control of our government after 2006,....?
Will you stay with the game plan but only fight harder to get rid of them in 2008? Or will you be so discouraged that you may just drop out of politics altogether and try to figure out some other way to fight the criminals in power? Will you be ready to give up on the Democrats? Or will you more motivated than ever to fight the Republicans and the corporatists? How do you think you will react if the people decide to keep the Republicans in control?

1. May move to Canada. This country will be a Theocracy by 08.
If they still control the House and Senate after 06.

2. you know kentuck the game plan may be flawed
we may need to take the words of the declaration of independence to heart... and as is Katrina has accelerated that by leaps and bounds... you have no idea how suprising it was to hear a little treason at my local Barnes and Noble from the least expected people (MC and White)

3. if the people decide?
I think if election returns show the Repubs still in control after all this I think it's pretty strong evidence something is up with the voting system.

7. I agree, Siyahamba!
It will stick to high heaven, but I wonder how many others will come to that conclusion. And by that, I mean, how many Dems will realize their votes were stolen? Or will they continue to believe the media spew?

I gotta say, most of the Dems I know, who were actively involved in the process last year & were paying attention to the lies & misrepresentations of the media, are no longer doing that this year. It's like they turned everything political in their lives off with a flick of a switch on Nov. 3. I don't feel too hopeful that anyone who doesn't pay as close attention to current events as we do will pay attention next election.

Arghh! I used to be more optimistic in my world view. Five years of this administration is making me a pessimist. :banghead:

15. That's the thing.
They are planning to push through a flat tax, social security private accounts and more tax cuts (primarily benefitting the wealthy. All this despite public resistance on every count and Bushs' own cratering poll numbers.

It's clear they don't plan to lose an election any time soon.

4. Already working on getting out...
Even the front-running Dems don't have the cojones to make the kind of changes that will be needed to turn this thing around. Nothing less than an FDR-style rescue is needed, and I don't see the American people electing that type of person, assuming the elections are fair.

6. They own the election machines
and there is nothing to stop them from stealing the next one. It will be very disheartening because all the signs will point to a democratic win and then it will turn GOP.

8. I hope the Fed and the States
order more body bags. Be it natural disasters, terrorism or BS Wars for Democracy, dead is dead. If the Republicans get voted in again then we haven't allowed them to fill enough body bags. If they get the opportunity then certainly will.

10. Let me ask ???

Can ANYONE tell me what our message is?

There liars and with every word out of these kool ade drinking fools is a bigger lie isn't working no matter how hard we all try to help people understand.

Being a recovering lost soul to the truth.

One who proudly served this country in the Gulf War and fought in 6 other campaigns. I grew up in an all Military family made to believe that Dem's. were nothing but for high taxation and for stealing our civil liberties. ha ha I laugh now.

Now after being abrade for over 8 years in 20 different countries and have seen first hand what this CRIME FAMILY has turned the GREAT UNITED STATES of AMERICA into, I had to ask myself the same question I ask many others does the Republican Party truly represent how you feel inside? The most common answer is NO.

You are right by saying the way to strengthen the Democratic Party is not by bashing the republicans, we need to show them the reasons why the Dem's are better.

1. Start by saying they defend your civil liberties.

2. Against the Patriot Act.

3. Defenders of the true Constitution. ( We the people, not WE we the People )

4. Against sending our troops into harms way for an unjust cause.
( OIL )

This list could go on and on but , I think you get my point this party will NEVER grow as long as you tell the republicans their party sucks, you have to show them why ours is better.

But do we have a Message that will help get the voters to vote democrat. To take a play out of the play book of the Neo-con very own playbook "The Contract to America" worked because it was a one voice which they could sell to the american people. For the past two years I haven't heard of any such message from the democrats except saying I can't believe these people can't see for themselves. Well obviously they don't see or don't understand what is truly happening.

So I ask again what is the message?

14. I agree that the Democrats need a message,,,
As a Party, not just one or two people speaking up. That does not make a Party. Howard Dean cannot do the work of the entire Party. The Senators and Congressmen tha sit silently must speak up with a message. You cannot beat something with nothing. They cannot decide whether they want a populist message or a "moderate" message?? They think the populist message will turn off a lot of voters in the middle. Or they think the moderate message appeal to a majority who will turn away from the radical Republicans...

11. It is already past time for a political solution.
The only hope is to remove them from power, one scumbag at a time, by any means necessary.

12. I'll probably just focus on helping people in my own community.
There's plenty to do in my transitioning city and if the Repigs continue to control the federal gov't., the only thing I can see to do is to make my local community the kind of place I want to live.

13. I agree with that....
obviously that will be difficult for DUers living in red areas, but everyone should do as much as they can to improve their own communities. Think about running for local office, if you can.

16. We must build infrastructure NOW, in our own precincts.
06 is too late. If you are thinking about how shitty things will be if we fail in 06 or 08, PLEASE take a couple of minutes to find your party's chair and write or call to contact your precinct president. Most likely there is no active organization and that is why we keep failing even though we have all the advantages. Our networks have deteriorated, the republicans are busy building theirs and we have to start rebuilding ours. The time is now, when the election is upon us we will need to already BE organized. This is the time to do that work.

You may not like everything about your local democrats but folks we are all we've got. Work to make your local party better.
For us here we are working to build a street by street organization, call lists to make sure everyone has a ride to the polls, call to remind to vote, house parties to raise funds for our candidates, (house parties for campaign finance reform too but that is another story!), job lists so our local party members can have some meaningful way to help, and get this thing done while we still can.

ps brought to you by the new president of district 24 precinct 3. We had our first meeting last week in 16 years!
