I'm worried about george. (Warning - Extremely Photo Heavy)
No, really. Aren't you? Heard he was going to New orleans today and will spend the night there as well. This brings up all kinds of questions. I'm sure you have more, but for now, I have to ask:

will he be welcome?

will there be a parade? will there be beads?

will there be enough security?

where will he stay?

how will he get where he's going?

what will he eat?

will he bring his own alarm clock? or will one be provided?

will he bring Barney? will Barney make new friends?

does Barney like cats?

What will he do while he's there?
will he go fishing? maybe take a boat ride?

will he bring his bike? will these people ride with him?

who will he hug? who will hug him?

1. Nice work, soup. I am EXTREMELY worried about "W".
Because, as we all know by now, it is all about him.

can't sleep without them, ya know?

Thanks for caring, Bluebear. I knew I wasn't the only one concerned about **his royal aboveitallness.

Isn't there a pray for george site somewhere - set up so the troops in Iraq can pray for him? Swear I remember something like that.

WONDERFULLY done! The animal pics also were as heartbreaking as the human suffering. The pic of people on the highway made me think of my own local highways and what it would be like to be stuck on them like that.

55. Stranded Pets
I don't know why but it's the plight of the homeless animals which really makes the disaster real to me. I cry to myself whenever I think of the human suffering but for some reason the images of homeless dogs and cats really brings it home to me. It highlights the senslessness of it all I think.

The sight of a fellow human being suffering is heart breaking enough but to see a tame pet who trusts us and in many cases depends on us for survival is clearly too much for you and I. What worries me is that the bedraggled animals we see in these pictures are the hardiest of those to be found in New Orleans. There are thousands of others who were simply to delicate to survive the torment and horror.

I haven't commented on the Katrina disaster thus far so I'll use this opportunity to offer my heart and sympathy to everyone affected.

Tears here, too. Very moving.

I have a suggestion. Where the woman is wrapped in the flag would be a good opportunity to stick it to * over his constant association with the flag. Maybe something like, "Will they wear the flag with George?"

OK, now I have to go have a drink and try to forget this.

God what a mess this country is.

I so hope that a week or so from now, America will not forget these people. Besides their basics,I suspect many will need counseling and of course jobs.

All the private contractors they are bringing in should be forced to have a good percentage of their labor,at their going rates, be from the area.

Have you considered donating a few bucks to Noah's Wish or the HSUS (they both have animal rescue teams on the ground)? Their websites are www.noahswish.org and www.hsus.org - I know they could both use any financial help from anyone.

86. Wouldn't want to be poor George in the end, you know.
It will be very, very hot down there, or so we're told over the centuries.

80. Well, Zippity-Doo-Dah!
C'mon, Soup, let's not worry our beautiful minds about the victims of Hurricane Corina. They are so poor and they are so black, but this is working very well for them. We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. Brownie is doing a heck of a job. Things are going relatively well. What didn't go right? That's the first time I've heard it. You're just trying to get us to play the blame game. It's terrible. It's tragic. But in a democracy of 300 million people, over years and years and years, these things happen. Now tell the truth boys, is this kind of fun? Let's go get a good Mexican meal and a stiff margarita.

Seriously...well done.

90. All I can think of
is this song and how nobody with any power cares. At all.

I plan on giving heavily in 2 weeks.
