I'm VERY Proud of the Carolina Panthers!
My husband -- and yes, I am a football widow -- told me this.

Today the Carolina Panthers are playing the New Orleans Saints here on opening day at the BOA stadium in Charlotte. My husband tells me that the Panthers provided free tickets and transportations to hundreds of displaced New Orleans residents who are living at the Charlotte Coliseum right now.

He and I both picked the Panthers to win in our big family football pool, and so far the Panthers are losing by 3 points. But he just stopped by my room to tell me about the fans from N.O. being brought to the stadium for free, and I told him, "You know, even if the Panthers lose, we still win."

And he agreed.

Secretly I'm rooting for the Saints right now! Don't tell anyone! :)

3. Kick (and game update info inside my message)
Panthers are still losing...
Those Saints have a tremendous spirit inside them! Even if they aren't N.O. natives (something my husband has mentioned to me) they're fighting for their city! You go, guys!

Charlotte Observer (www.charlotteobserver.com) has intriguing stories about the Panthers, the Saints, this first matchup after the storm, and the Charlotte Coliseum evacuees, and some of the pets there.
