Angus Reid Global Scan) – Few adults in the United States are satisfied with how George W. Bush is dealing with the coalition effort, according to a poll by Princeton Survey Research Associates for the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press. 34 per cent of respondents approve of the way the U.S. president is handling the situation in Iraq, down three points since May.

That's no surprise, but the overall number is a few points hihger. His handle terrorism approval is still the highest of all issue specific questions, though even that number is in the low 50's now. It used to be over 70%.

6. But we're still stuck with him...

It's great that his numbers are down so low but we're still stuck with him and his hideous gang for several years. I don't see any serious impeachment action or even substantial talk (if this was Bill Clinton he'd already have been impeached and then tarred & feathered.) Iraq is still a quagmire of death & destruction for Iraqis & Americans. The MSM, with very few exceptions, are still a disgrace to journalism and way too lenient on Bushco. Our national deficit is beyond staggering. Corruption & cronyism are still rampant (Halliburton is getting MORE no-bid contracts due to the tragedy in New Orleans). Bolton has been sent to wreak havoc at the U.N. The so-called "Patriot" Act is basically permanent now. Bush will now appoint 2 justices to the Supreme Court, thus tipping the balance steeply to the right and giving him control of all 3 branches of the Federal Government. Actions speak louder than polls. If the low polls are sustained and reflected in the 2006 elections, i.e. many Republicans are actually rejected/thrown out of office by angry voters, then I'll start getting excited.
