How would impeachment be possible even with a Senate victory?
Okay I am just catching up here I will admit but don't at least 2/3 of the house have to vote in favor of impeachment BEFORE the Senate even gets in on the action?

What good will a majority in the Senate do if the House is still Greedy Old Pricks controlled?

incidently I still wish to see an outright sweep for Democratic candidates in the Senate if ANYTHING just to see the Senate go back into progressive hands and kick these dangerous dinosaurs the hell out of office and back to their jobs as being small time crooks.

1. It would not be impossible
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 06:22 PM by VADem11
2/3 of the senate must vote to CONVICT and remove from office the president or whoever is being impeached. A simple majority is needed in the House to impeach. Otherwise, Clinton would never have been impeached.

2. actually.....
whether there is one or not, the repubs can be shamed into doing it because they are all on shaky ground.....over 20 seats (house) and of course......you all need to make sure the voting machines go...

i just think that if it isnt started now, at least forced to start in an investigation, it will be forgotten in 2006 because too much damage will have been done.....the criminals are dangerous when they are this unfit for duty, or unintelligent....frankly i dont think americans will wait.

8. That's what I was thinking
If all else fails just keep shaming the Republicans in the house to call for impeachment and that would be the prick needed to sink the boat once and for all with a majority in the senate going to the Democrats.

3. I had a dog once
that was hit by a car. As she was dying, I noticed the fleas jumping off her in great numbers.

I think there are a lot of fleas in the Senate.

But my biggest concern about impeachment is the next dog in line.

11. Ted Stevens
Edited on Sun Sep-11-05 06:37 PM by VADem11
He's president pro tempore of the senate. After him is Condi, then the other secretaries (excluding Chao and Guitterez because they're foreign born) in the order of the founding of each cabinet department excluding DHS. So that would mean it would continue on to Condi, John Snow, rummie, Gonzales, and so on.

4. It doesn't take 2/3's of the House
The Rethugs didn't have a 2/3 majority when they started impeachment against Clinton. All that's needed is a simple majority (and they barely had that).

The two-thirds vote applies only to the Senate, where it takes 2/3's of all present and voting to convict.

7. Regardless, we must act now.
In my opinion we can no longer stay on the side of the road on this issue. Everybody in the world now knows the dangers in this administration. What horrors are in store for everybody if we wait for the perfect conditions. We have to act now. Impeachment is no longer an option. It is an imperative.

It is our patriotic duty to do everything we can to remove these bums at the earliest opportunity. The country... nay, the world can't afford another minute with these idiots in office. They have to go; the sooner, the better.

We have to start beating the drum for impeachment now and keep beating it until it happens.

9. It ***IS*** possible!
The Republicans are up for re-election, remember. And while some could be charged for being a willing accessory to Bush's crimes, how many have hands that bloody red? Not that many. It's easier for them to back up, impeach, convict and hang Bush out to dry than it is to take the heat for him.

Keep increasing the pressure, move forward like you know you can and it will happen.

Don't give up, you've nearly won.

13. It doesn't matter how the Congress is composed...
Impeachment is THE right thing to do, and it erodes these criminals**' support even if we just talk about it.

14. Can the War Criminals be tried for MURDER? Thousands and Thousands
have died...is that not enough to convict a group of KILLERS?

Could every mother, father, sister, brother file suit against these B*st*rds?

Why are they not arrested? I know the reasons, but WHY are they still running around killing, when people kill one person they have a trial on tv for years and then get the death penalty.

Could another country help us? I know there was a War Criminal indictment in Germany, but they have to go there to be tried.

Could millions of Americans indict them?

kick for the TRUTH ALREADY

Republicans on board to make it happen. I wonder if there is anyway to make the redistricting done by De Lay to get more Republican Congressmen into the house declared illegal and void? You know they stacked the deck with that action and I think there should be hearings about it in Texas to reverse that action.
