[Pushed To The Left]

There has been a lot of disappointment here about the voting records of some Democrats. I myself have been very critical of Democrats who have taken right-wing stances. However, I would still rather have a Democrat in office who has disappointed me than a conservative Republican in his or her place! If we want more progressive Democrats, we need to vote for them in primary elections.

I think that supporting civil liberties groups like the ACLU, People For the American Way, Americans United, and Southern Poverty Law Center is a much better strategy. These groups take important issues to the Courts, where they have a much better chance at being decided the Constitutional way, rather than being decided by a politician's fear of losing right-wing votes.
