For the record I am a historian by training and hold an MA in History from *****. There was a time when words like these words were written and spoken. It was another country and another time. The Journal where these appeared was called Der Sturmer, and the place was 1930s and 1940s Germany. You may want to take appropriate actions, but if this is the kind of teacher teaching at your school, I will definitely stay away from your school.

...said the man's a nut case. Today I only hope he's wrong. I've been stunned by the depths of Bushco's callous cruelty too many times to simply dismiss Calderon's rhetoric. If the Bushco regime ever begins to feel threatened by domestic political opposition, (I mean really seriously threatened) I just can't imagine them hesitating to become brutal with ordinary citizens who challenge their authority. 22. The rise in this kind of talk has disturbed me deeply.

There is a concrete and tangible difference between the exercise of free speech and the threat of violence. The right-wing groups have been crossing the line in a way that has come across to me as a threat to me personally, though I don't fit the description of their targets (perhaps I'm left-wing, though I view myself as centrist, but I'm not a professor or an intellectual). It seems as though these are open endorsements for violence against people for their political affiliations or beliefs.

Pat Robertson's call for Hugo Chavez' assassination is another instance of this which is similarly deeply disturbing. A literal death threat has been broadcast on national TV with no observable legal consequences.

I would be willing to financially contribute, despite my meager means, to legal efforts to prosecute those who make these kinds of death threats. I think there need to be more legal challenges to these threats of violence, and I'd be willing to vote with my wallet for such.
