Did anyone catch LKL tonight? A caller was cut off when she asked
"how can we become more compassionate not only to the victims of Katrina, but to all of the other suffering in the world...(you can clearly hear her say "such as the I...") She was hung up on before she said suffering such as the Iraq War! Anyone else notice this? Her question was posed to the Dalai Lama, who was a guest on LKL.

2. No, the point is they didn't want her to say that the Iraq War was
included in world suffering. They cut her off before she could say Iraq War...

5. He'd better agree with her. This administration has so altered my faith
in the goodness of people, that I might even start questioning the Dali.

3. Larry King sucks.
I know what #1 reply meant.
The Dalai Lama is caring, so questions like that are bound to come up.
And, given his "sucky" nature, Larry King is bound to hang up on them.

Hey Lar, what ever happened to that girl in Aruba? :eyes:

9. I Am So Sick of the "Liberal Media" Rolling Over...
...over & over again -- all the while, the Rushites calling for more & more mainstream blood and heads.

Our news institutions must, now more than ever, rediscover the balls that put them in business in the first place.

12. I thought it was $$$ that put them in business. It's all the deregulation
that has allowed the corruption and brought us MSM's goose-stepping compliance with BushCo.

15. Ah, *wistful sigh* -- the good old days.
Remember when journalists actually sought out and reported the news?

No, what I meant was that the current MSM situation of corruption and "rolling over" was brought about by those with massive amounts of cash (think Murdock) getting into the business of dispensing info. They turn around and give lots of $$$ to politicians, who in turn deregulated the media. All very quid pro quo. The result being that there is no real information reported. Just right-wing hooey.

16. Not to Mention That...
...broadcast TV producers allowed cable competition for market share to turn their venerable news orgs into tabloids; and that the "news" has become a generic slush-pool of reporting which the cheap & lazy "mainstream" dips from & spews forth.

Me too -- I sure miss the good old days of hard, independent journalism.

10. One of the high points of the entire sad week....and to know she had cried
miserably about the plight of strangers just like we did, and was so angry at the total indifference and indignity...And then sang like an angel. She was great indeed! A wonderful soul, like the Dalai Lama.
