What's about the announced KATRINA forum?

A week ago or so i saw a thread that looked for 10 donors willing to support the idea of a KATRINA forum. They managed to find them and apparently applied for the creation of this forum. As i don't have enough posts to send pm i'd like to simply ask if the forum is in the making when it will start or if for some reason there won't be any discussion forum.
I hope there will be one given the huge amount of interest in the topic.

49. I just heard from a mod person that the request is in to the admins, but
they are swamped right now. Perhaps we can at least start the data collection in this thread now. We need to do the best that we can to save all the info that we can while we are awaiting a decision. In the mean time you can appoint yourselves to the Data Rescue Mission. Consider yourselves an Army of One until we can pull the troops together. Make sure that you put everything you can into your own favorites file. Perhaps we can each take a few categories to organize and assemble. How does that sound?

2. Because if Katrina is on a forum than no 'lurkers' will be allowed

to see how united we are.

Now why would anyone want to put Katrina in a forum? Katrina & the Bush reaction is a 'look see' into all that we have been talking about for years.

We will continue to talk about her in the open, for years.

Why would we not want "new DUers" to see we feel the same way as them? You know - a welcome and a chance for them to say "hey - they think like me"

What would be the point of that.

3. The admin has not had a chance to get to developing it yet.

So we are asking people to post information in the Katrina thread in the Activism Headquarters.

It is cumbersome and visually challenging, sort of a shelter of last resort to keep data from drowning. If you use that thread, please be very careful to put things in the most appropriate category that you can find.

We are asking also that people using this thread only post information from major news sources and not personal speculation.

Please be patient and keep posting in the Katrina thread for now.
I also wanted to mention that the forums ARE open to new people to see the information. They can also post their comments there as soon as they get posting rights, which is really pretty quick.
