I hope you all can tolerate a question like this:
I've been here about six weeks.

When I first arrived, I thought a 'freeper' was a member of the Free Republic forum. But I've seen it used in so many ways, I finally have to ask:

What is a freeper? Does the word have many different 'degrees' of meaning, depending on the context in which it's being used?

(What caused me to finally break down and ask was an opinion I read earlier in a DU thread that doctors, attorneys and other professionals cannot be freepers because freepers are "generally stupid." As I former process server, I found many doctors and attorneys to be mind-bogglingly stupid in their ignorance of, and willingness to break, the law.)
