Letter from Iraq: Centre County soldier writes about 'our goal of bringing democracy'

We are remembering 9-11 here. That is the reason most of us are here, because we owe it as Americans to those who had no choice on 9-11. We still sit back and watch programs about 9-11 that are sent to us, and often stand up feeling rejuvenated with the refresher of the purpose we're here. These times are huge morale boosters for us because it reminds us that the sweat we're pouring out everyday isn't only for the Iraqis, but more importantly, in remembrance of those lost. We had a choice, and that is to not only help to rid the world of terrorists, but to help Iraq out in the process by providing democracy, so they to may one day join the fight for global peace.

To remind them....to fuel the outrage. Logic and truth has a way of falling by the wayside when outrage is going on. Pity they aren't showing them Michael Moore's little 9/11 effort, instead...at least then the outrage woud be directed at the right dictator.

10. 9-11 is the reason I am here, at DU

I was pissed off about The supreme court ruling in 2000, but still believed my gov't was more "good" than "evil." Then september 11th happened. I started watching the news and listening to NPR (back when it was still getting out good info) and saw first hand all of the lies this administration was spewing to build up the Iraq invasion. More net searching for a wider range of knowledge ended up bringing me here. So, in a way, 9-11 was what got me to DU.
