They don't Vote (New Orleans) (MTV Interview)

I don't know how many of you caught the pre-show for the "React NOW!" concert put on by VHI/CMT/MTV, but they had Gideon, SuChin and Sway down there right after the storm taking interviews and talking with various folks.

I found one interview telling, A 30ish looking black man was talking with Sway, and he pointed out that this "shit" wouldn't have happened in Detroit, New York, Dallas, L.A., Chicago, etc. He said one of the main problems is the local government has been corrupt for decades and the poeple don't care, live day to day, and don't vote and participate in the local community. I wish I can find the interview but am still searching. I found it telling coming from somebody sitting outside the Dome surrounded by trash.

Did anybody catch this? Bush is a POS, but I'm not cutting Nagin and the rest of the local leaders any slack either. If they are true Dems, they don't seem to have done much for the community, and if what this man said was true in the interview, the people need to step up and be active. VOTE! I don't care if they are a Dem, if they are doing a piss-poor job, kick their asses out!

I look at the school system as a large indicator of how well local government is performing, and these stat's are appalling!
