with their Hurricane Katrina 'debit cards'?
My pet peeve is treating children as if they are worth less as human beings than adults. And here's an administration that was always lambasting the 'Marriage Penalty' -- more taxes if you are married than if you are single.
So when they introduced the $2000 per family 'debit cards' (now checking accounts), I ask, why is a child WORTH NOTHING??!! Why is the GOP anti-family? Why is the GOP anti-child? For that matter, Why is the GOP anti-marriage?
What's the great fear in handing out $2000 per victim regardless of age? Are they afraid that some black family with 6 kids might actually have a shot at rebuilding a life? Conversely, do orphaned children get nothing?
We DUers will ALL be surprised if the $2000 DOESN'T turn out to be a total GOP scam, handed out by the bucketful to their buddies, through untraceable means. But even on its face, this approach is wrong.
