Pentagon Revises Nuclear Strike Plan
Strategy Includes Preemptive Use Against Banned Weapons

By Walter Pincus
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, September 11, 2005; A01

The Pentagon has drafted a revised doctrine for the use of nuclear weapons that envisions commanders requesting presidential approval to use them to preempt an attack by a nation or a terrorist group using weapons of mass destruction. The draft also includes the option of using nuclear arms to destroy known enemy stockpiles of nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.

1. First they increase the number of enemies we have in the world,
then they increase the consequences of doing anything about that.

"God" help us.

4. It works up to a point. What if:
1. Russia and/or China makes it loud & clear that an attack on Iran and/or Venezuela is equivalent to directly attacking one or both of them? The doctrine of mutual annihilation is off the table.

2. If no retaliatory military defensive strike against this country, about we become a permanent pariah in the world? Totally isolated. China, Japan, and the Phillipines stop buying our treasuries and sell of the ones they are holding? It's kinda hard to buy McDonald Douglas and Halliburton with pennies on the dollar in order to stay the biggest baddass on the block.

The Pentagon has been taken over by neocons instead of graduates of West Point, the Virginia Miliary Institute, etc. No officer would even consider this to be a sensible plan either as an offense or backwards defense (get them before they get you).
