The first time I heard of him as a candidate it was the charming story of him asking Mrs. Monkey what she thought of a speech. She didn't like it and he drove the car through the back of the garage--0--how that was considered "amusing" was a mystery then and a mystery to me still. I thought it showed a violent nature and a bully with real problems. Now he "yells" at grown men who fear him?
