He was under pressure after shutting down a jerk that was performing unnecessary surgery on show horses to "enhance their showring appeal". Brown cut the guy off at the knees (good move). But then he got nervous and started a legal defense fund for himself when the freak threatened him. Not a bad idea, except that he funded it with big donations from people who now stood a chance of winning with the surgery man out of the picture. Really a bad move, especially when the IAHA contract would have paid all his legal bills anyway.
