3. It's AWESOME
You know this is happening in other agencies but never have I seen
just a blatant talk...
but what has happened in FEMA has happened extensively in the EPA, DOL,EEOC, you name it...
Bush corp has gutted our government and put in his incompetent pals.

Man, this administration should be impeached.

Anyone who knew what they were doing, were replaced by political hacks with emphasis on terrorism only. Damn G W Bush.

5. When, when, when
will this entire nation wake up and get pissed.

Seemingly this moved it forward, yet still..
one of the most blatant "robbing the coffers for his pals"
move was the no bid contracts assigned on NO before any water
got into the city plus he ditched requiring the companies to pay the
going wage so they can make even more profits..
so all of those people, who need jobs, are going to make slave labor.

ever day this is this story, but Iraq is one big pig feast for private contractors.

10. slave labor wages
I just don't get that. How can Bush arbitrarily suspend the Davis-Bacon Act without some kind of Congressional approval? I mean, if it's that easy, I'm amazed he didn't do it the day he took office. Why wait for a Hurricane?

All this time the people on his Contract Buddy List could have been making a fortune.

18. Here is contact info on 3 sympathetic reporters, ask them to raise
this issue to the American people:

Anderson Cooper: 360@cnn.com
Aaron Brown: aaron.brown@turner.com
Keith Olberman countdown@msnbc.com

I have been doing it since the Katrina Disaster and have found the info sent is actually being used. Coincidence? maybe, but what harm is there in making your outrage to them.

BTW WELCOME TO DU MESTUP! :)

20. also Lou Dobbs
I know people are busy blasting Lou Dobbs for whatever these days, but believe me, he has been raising stories that were buried on economic
issues and the middle class since 2002. He's been a lone wolf.

We don't believe in open borders either and we are not racists,
we are aware of labor economics!

I am hoping that bringing from under the rug the poor and into the media spotlight, America wakes up on what is really going on.

Just the propaganda from corporations alone makes ya think that everyone is buying a 40k car and has a financial advisor.

12. When it hits them on a very personal level
If something is happening to someone else, not to us, it does not impact us as much. Even those of us who are doing what we can to reach out to those who have been directly affected by Katrina and everything connected to it, but who have not been directly affected, cannot possibly feel the direct effects. Those of us who do have empathy, who do reach out, are far more aware than those (BushBots, or whatever) who just don't get it because nothing the * admin has done has penetrated their consciousness yet. When it does, they may well change their minds.

So sad, but true.

13. Democrats true enough
Pressure should be brought to bare on the media even more so. With blatant cronyism costing 1000's of lives, they should be looking into every agency touched by this admin.
They won't do it on their own. They won't even talk about the cronyism involved in Halliburton - KBR cleanup contracts.

They would be in Clinton's (or any dem's) sock drawer right about now hunting pink and purple witches.

7. The 31 million allocated to Florida residents so easily?
That was because * was trailing Kerry, Brown cut the checks.
Allbaugh is making millions as a lobbyist for clean up contractors in NO. A diary on Kos predicts that he will hire Brown to work for him!
It just doesn't stop!

<http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/9/13/11352/0762>

snip...

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel uncovered emails from Florida Gov. Jeb Bush that confirmed those allegations and directly implicated Brown as playing politics at the expense of hurricane victims.

"As the second hurricane in less than a month bore down on Florida last fall, a federal consultant predicted a "huge mess" that could reflect poorly on President Bush and suggested that his re-election staff be brought in to minimize any political liability, records show," the Sentinel reported in a March 23 story.

"Two weeks later, a Florida official summarizing the hurricane response wrote that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was handing out housing assistance "to everyone who needs it without asking for much information of any kind."

The records the Sentinel obtained were contained in hundreds of pages of Gov. Jeb Bush's storm-related e-mails the paper received from the governor's office under the threat of a lawsuit.

16. That's FEMA. Think of consistency of cronyism, lowest common
denominator, corruption, apathy, cynacism, etc.

Now think a little bigger.

EPA, Department of Education, Department of Commerce, etc.

Now think big, much bigger.

Department of Treasury, FBI, CIA, Pentagon. Those agencies and institute have been gutted. The experienced career people, nonpartisan, knew the "System" -- gone.

Replaced with people who wouldn't be elected to your local Chamber of Commerce or Kiwanis Club.
