Will the NAACP & the Black Caucus move to impeach bush?
If ever there were a group of people with a legititmate grievance against bush, it would certainly be these groups.

Honestly, watching people starve & die of thirst for 6 days was like watching genocide. I still can't believe any president could sit back and watch his own countrymen die, without lifting a finger.

I sit here looking at some of the links posted on DU:

Limbaugh calls New Orleans Mayor Nagin "Mayor Nayger" http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/09/09.html#a4871

Karen Hughes says New Orleans looting will tarnish American image abroad http://www.western-star.com/business/content/shared/news/nation/stories/09/09KATRINA_HUGHES.html

DeLay to evacuees: 'Is this kind of fun?' http://rawstory.com/news/2005/DeLay_to_evacuees_Is_this_kind_of_f_0909.html

Barbara Bush comments on survivors spark outrage http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/barbara-bush-comments-on-survivors-spark-outrage/2005/09/07/1125772563296.html?onfiltered=true

And I'm so outraged. These remarks are so insensitive, so insulting, it's unbelievable.

So I'm wondering will the NAACP & Black Caucus go after bush, and if they should, would our Democratic representatives back them up? For the first time, in almost 5 years, I have seen the Media take off the gloves, when it comes to critizing bush. His poll numbers have never been worse....if ever there was a time to go after him, it would be now. To wait on this would be a big mistake.

I also don't understand why the Democrats are holding back...confirmation hearings will take the headlines & Katrina will be forgotten. I hope they don't let that happen.

From everything I've read bush cut the funding to NOLA: Reuters: (Bush) Budget cuts delayed New Orleans flood control work Bush administration funding cuts forced federal engineers to delay improvements on the levees, floodgates and pumping stations that failed to protect New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina's floodwaters, agency documents showed on Thursday.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050901/pl_nm/weather_katrina_funding_dc_1

And even though he was given warning: "Before 9/11 the Federal Emergency Management Agency listed the three most likely catastrophic disasters facing America: a terrorist attack on New York, a major earthquake in San Francisco and a hurricane strike on New Orleans" http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F70915F63C550C718CDDA00894DD404482 bush did nothing to follow up on any of them.

Of those 3 scenerios, bush has already failed at 2.

In Addition, how can firms with close ties to bush be given preference in the clean up? Why aren't Democrats up in arms about that too?
Firms with White House ties get Katrina contracts
FEMA taps Halliburton subsidiary, Shaw Group, Bechtel for cleanup
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/10/katrina.contracts.reut/index.html

You would think given all of this, there would be real anger and outrage on the part of all 3 groups. The American public is really angry too, and their representatives are the only ones with the ability to hold bush accountable. Will they?

I'd like to know what the people of DU think.

2. African Americans and Democrats have the ammunition
but I am not sure they will load it into the gun. They have not exactly proved to be worthy adversaries of the Bush Administration thus far. I would love to see it happen, but I am doubtful. Depressing.
