Roberts "Big Baby Blue" Contacts are freaking me out! There's something
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 09:40 AM by KoKo01
odd about this guy. Why would he choose contacts that make him look like a giant insect.

Anyway, Leahy has been doing a pretty good job with the questions, but he seems a little "halting" in his asking of them. Roberts smile and super confidence is such a turn off to me...that I had to stop watching, though.

On EDIT: OOP's this post is a Dupe...didn't realize there were already so many threads about Roberts weird eyes and smile. I'm asking Mods to lock.

1. Funny
I was watching the hearings and was thinking the same thing. Slipped into a brief fantasy that I was watching some kind of evil demon. :evilfrown:

2. Maybe he has baby-blue eyes
Some people do, you know.

His stepfordish frozen smile worries me a whole lot more than the color of his eyes.

5. His writings freak me out ...
I come from a family where "those eyes" are a pretty common physical trait ... so, his eyes aren't bothering me ...

6. here's the problem that I can see:
Edited on Tue Sep-13-05 09:40 AM by sui generis
if you ask a potential justice about their ideas of judicial process and the role of the judiciary in general terms, you are asking how you think they will treat the law and some of our more controversial social issues when they come up in the future.

But that only answers half the question, since you can't predict the future not matter how well they answer.

When we are not "allowed" to ask why they ruled or argued one way or another on prior decisions, we throw away the tiny bit of reality that we could otherwise use to judge that person's "agenda" ourselves.

It's one thing if he says he doesn't have an agenda, but quite another if his track record says otherwise. We HAVE to question the track record.

Personally I am sick and tired of this idiot in the whitehouse who can't come up with a single candidate that 60 people can immediately agree upon! Or that most of president dumbfuck's appointees are SO bad that he has to sneak them in with recess appointments.

This shit-for-brains president doesn't know the first goddamn thing about being a "uniter".

7. They remind me of the Incredible Hulk.
He's a regular lawyer by day and conservative monster by night. As soon as he gets on the bench he will peal off his moderate mask and reveal his true self!

10. One of the problem is that he is looking "upward" toward
the Senators on the dais.

Remember when Oliver North testified he actually created a picture of innocence when he, too, looked upward.

Perhaps people testifying before a committee should be at eye level, but then the Senators won't feel so deified and we cannot have that, can we?

13. Quayle Deer Eyes in the Headlights Look - Scary and he
is arguing with Leahy. Maybe a smart senator will ask a good question that will provoke him to slip in public and reveal his true Corporate CEO, super rich, screw the rest sociopath personality. Its right there behind the eyes. This man suffered major soul loss - freightening!

14. Anyone watching see the woman behind him
I don't know if it's his wife, but she really seems uncomfortable. Maybe just hot flashes, but the deer in the headlights look is keeping me from watching Roberts.
