their objective is to increase the power and wealth of their wealthy elite. the multinational corporate power structure suits this purpose best, so that is what they aim to strengthen and benefit at every turn.

the republic is fine with them as long as it protects their wealth and power accumulation. this is why they love wars, governments are good for that. but if the republic doesn't serve their interests, they will destroy it or move on to a different country if that is what works best for them.
