Bush "Accepting Responsibility" Vs. Newsweek & Time Exposes
about his incompetence.

Which will have more impact?

Remember, the Time and Newsweek mags w/ blistering coverage of Katrina are out this week.

This is a PR game that's being played here, obviously. Rove knows how damaging those NW and Time pieces are, so he has Chimpy "take responsibility". People will hear this, then read those articles, or vice versa. Which will leave the most lasting impression?

1. I don't believe "accepting responsibility" will do much.
No one will forget those folks pleading for help. Ever.

2. "Accepting Responsibility" is an old trick...
Reagan used it when more than 200 Marines were killed in a bombing in Lebanon.
It usually works quite well at defusing criticism such as Time and Newsweek.
We'll see if Smirky can handle even the pretense of accepting responsibility. I expect a great effort at acting for the speech on Thursday. Maybe he is right now practicing the "Method" at the Actor's Studio...

It will take a lot of conferring with Jack (Daniels) to recover from that speech...

3. "Accepting responsibility"
is what people say right before they say "now let's move on." It's generally an attempt to pressure people to overlook their failures. It's just as lame as an apology without actions, as in 'Well, I said I was sorry. What more do you want?'

It is to be hoped that people will see through the lip service to the lack of any meaningful corrective action.

6. Right, ACTIONS Speak Louder Than Words
I think most people will see through this ploy.

5. I'm reminded of the old Nixon over the WG pics
He says "I'm sorry".

The Statue of Liberty says, "Yeah, that makes one helluva lot of difference."

I don't think the Boy King's words will mean diddly.
