Bush's mea culpa falls short....reporters once again let him off the hook
Notice how carefully the words were chosen for Bush to say, in order to assign the least amount of blame possible to the little weasel?...."Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government and to the extent the federal government didn't fully do its job right, I take responsibility." In the first place, does anyone seriously think those are Bush's own words?
If he is serious about accepting responsibility, why did he not mention why he didn't appear on the scene for 4 days after Katrina hit....Remember Bush eating cake at John McCain's birthday celebration and strumming his guitar at a Republican fundraiser while people DIED in New Orleans?....Which brings me to the question....Why has NO REPORTER asked him about this?...Doesn't that reveal a serious flaw in his leadership?...HE WAS INVISIBLE WHEN THE COUNTRY NEEDED A PRESIDENT'S REASSURING WORDS!

2. that's parsing - sounds like they're still going to nail state and local
people if they can. Did he (or his minions) appoint the LA Homeland Security person and did that person screw up royally? Who are they going after?

5. Which reporters were there?
NBC has stuck David Gregory at the "Today" desk filling in for Matt Loser so he's safely unavailable. Were Terry Moran or John Roberts (the GOOD one) there?

6. I don't know which ones were at this particular event, but I'm referring
to the fact that they have not asked him about the missing 4 days at any of the opportunities they've had to ask him....

7. It's really frustrating that the regular WH press corps aren't on duty
Maybe they're all off on vacation (recovering from Crawford). The ones who were starting to show a spine only a month ago are now unfortunately absent when WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY!
