Peter Jennings interviewed Arnold on "This Week" and asked Arnold if he was "pro-abortion." Pausing for a second Arnold said, "yes." NO, NO, NO, Arnold, it's PRO-CHOICE. As someone who has worked as counselor with women facing an unplanned or uncertain pregnancy, no one ever goes into this decision with "pro-abortion" stance. That's the reason it's called "pro-choice." Pro-choice means alternatives, not definitives. It amazes me how the right will spin this to be something that it most certainly isn't.
When a woman faces something as emotionally wrenching as an unplanned pregnancy, her decision of 'CHOICE" should be one that is made by HER ALONE and supported by those who are trained professionals to help her in such a turbulent time.
If Arnold is "pro-choice," then he needs to learn to define it in a way that makes it clear to those who are so quick to jump on this as the mortal sin.
Abortion always has and always will be an emotionally charged subject--on both sides--and I hate to feed any trolls who like to stir the pot, but when the term "pro-abortion" is so loosely thrown around, I think it is so important to set it straight.
This is one time Arnold could actually help, that is, if he is sincere.
