12. I was going to post this in GD but I'll put it here
An inspiring speech by Kofi Annan is followed by a stream of shit. Kofi Annan stressed human rights, stopping genocide, nuclear non-proliferation and inaction of the world community. And now the one person who is trying to stop the UN from fulfilling those goals is speaking. So far bush's speech can be summed up with; terrah-iss, 9-11, terra-iss,terra-ism...

113. International Conference on Financing for Development Agreement
http://www.un.org/esa/ffd/ffdconf/

snip>
The International Conference on Financing for Development was held from 18-22 March 2002 in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico

This first United Nations-hosted conference to address key financial and development issues attracted 50 Heads of State or Government, over 200 ministers as well as leaders from the private sector and civil society, and senior officials of all the major intergovernmental financial, trade, economic, and monetary organizations. Their statements to the plenaries (in text and in video) and the Monterrey Consensus provide a picture of the new global approach to financing development.

25. Pausing in random places is an old Jesuit trick
It is supposed to make you sound more intelligent. If somebody had a low self esteem they taught the person to pause and count to three internally, because that would make them appear as smarter than they really were... It just makes Bush sound silly...

39. It's also a way to get people to not rush through a speech
Getting people to pause also a way to stop them from through a speech. That has never been a Bush problem, since he likes to pad out his speeches since he doesn't have much to say.

42. Yes, but that's not what Junior is doing.
He pauses at moments that would bring him wild applause in front of his prescreened audiences. For instance, if he says, "And we'll bring freedom to all people around the world" he'll stop, look up, and wait for the applause. He gets his reward with his sycophants across this country, but he gets crickets chirping in the UN. That's when his face gets an even p*ssier look on it and he continues on. By the time his speech is finished, he's glaring at the delegates who won't give him his reward for blessing them with his presence. :eyes:

62. I know, which is why I mention this to folks in Texas
I ask them if they've ever heard him address the UN. Those who haven't are usually very surprised when I tell them that he has zero accent when he does. The ones with Texas accents, themselves, know that that is virtually impossible to pull off. It's not hard to fake a Texas drawl, but it's extremely difficult to get rid of one completely - especially for one speech on one day. It highlights what a phony Junior truly is. It's funny how it's the little things that some people need to focus on to really understand that. Hey, whatever works! ;)

I don't think the UN members like his preachy tone. I know I don't. The silence amongst the members is deafening. I can hear individuals breathing I think.

All I can say is remember Clinton?

But I am so disgusted that he's hanging out with Poppy I don't even want to think about him - hard to believe he used to be president when you see him in those pictures with the progenitor...

111. I don't like seeing him with the Bush's either,
and certainly don't agree with everything he did, but you have to admit, he had the respect of the world. I'll never forget the standing ovation when Clinton walked out, especially as compared to the silence that greeted Bush.

from CBS - i.e., "don't read anything into that lack of applause" -
is duly noted by Rove, McClellan et al. & gives CBS more "access" to their slimey ranks???

108. That's hilarious: they're drawing attention to it on purpose.
"See the way the president's jaw jerks around? Right there, see it? Yeah that! It's totally meaningless and you shouldn't think it has anything to do with the rumors that he was and might still be a cocaine addict!"

What a piece of shit that was. Quite frankly, I think that a reading of "My Pet Goat" would've been more informative and stimulating.

It looks like the audience agreed.
